This year's Southern Saskatchewan racing schedules got a big shot in the arm.
Estevan Motor Speedway and Speedy Creek Raceway will be hosting Wissota Late Models as part of their 2014 offering to dirt track race fans.
The 3/8 mile high-banked oval of Estevan Motor Speedway has a reputation of being consistently smooth and fast. The regular IMCA classes of Hobby Stocks, Stocks and Modifieds provide plenty of passing and 3-wide racing on any race night.
Adding Wissota Late Models to the mix will take an already great program over the top!
The Late Models are scheduled for the following dates;
Saturday, May 3
Saturday May 31
Saturday June 28
Saturday, July 19
Monday, July 28 (Blaine Brothers Late Model Challenge)
Friday, August 22
Swift Current's Speedy Creek Raceway announced that the Northern Thunder Dirt Late Models will invade the Southwest Saskatchewan bullring for a weekend of racing action on Friday July 18 and Saturday, July 19.
Alberta's Castrol Raceway is the home track for the Wissota Late Models. The Can-Am Late Model Shootout in Swift Current is promising to be one of the hottest must-see racing events of the summer.
Following a modest 2013, Speedy Creek has ramped up the rest of their 2014 regular race program as well.
The IMCA Modifieds are coming back in a big way with no less than 7 shows this season. With 11 shows scheduled including the Late Models, that's a very stacked program.
It would appear that Saskatchewan dirt tack racing fans have hit the jackpot this season and should take advantage of the hard work put in by some good people who care.
Until next time...
